Regulation of the practice of clinical psychology

At present, there is no official statutory regulation of the practice of clinical psychology in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). It is not MANDATORY for any person to be licensed or registered with a government agency or professional board in order to practice as a clinical psychologist in the HKSAR.

The Hong Kong Association of Doctors in Clinical Psychology (HKADCP) is dedicated to the interests of the public, who need and deserve to be served by qualified, high-quality clinical practitioners. The Register of Clinical Psychologists of HKADCP thus serves as a register for practicing clinical psychologists that can recognize their professional qualifications to provide clinical psychological services to the community.

Although qualified clinical psychologists are encouraged to apply for listing in the Register, doing so does not imply any legality of status and/or exclusivity of any other practitioners to provide clinical psychological services in the HKSAR or elsewhere.

目前，香港特別行政區(香港特區)尚未有正式的法定規定監管臨床心理學這門專業，而在香港特區執業的臨床心理學家，均不需要在政府機構或專業委員會中獲得執照或註冊。

香港臨床心理學博士協會（HKADCP）致力為有需要使用優質臨床心理服務的市民爭取最大利益，並將擁有專業學位、合資格的執業臨床心理家收入臨床心理學家名冊內，供大眾參考。

雖然本會鼓勵合資格的臨床心理學家申請登記於臨床心理學家名冊內，然而此名冊沒有法定約束力，及其並不表示任何其他在香港特區或其他地方提供臨床心理服務的臨床心理學家的地位。
